Organic Composting Methods

This class is led by Rust Belt Riders, whose mission is to transform waste into wealth and feed people—not landfills. Discover practical organic composting techniques that turn food scraps into nutrient-rich soil and compost, perfect for your organic garden.

In this class, you’ll learn:

  • What can be composted

  • What cannot be composted

  • Methods for turning scraps into compost

  • When compost is ready, and how to use it

Rust Belt Rider’s Educational Outreach team’s purpose is to educate, empower and unite the community around food waste issues and provide circular solutions to the community. By building a more waste conscious generation in the city we can begin to restore the environmental damage of this region and build a more environmentally just and resilient city.

This class runs for about one hour with time afterwards for connecting with other local gardeners.
