increasing backyard gardens
Backyard garden bed installations in Clark Fulton and Ward 13. Local residents will receive an all organic, raised bed garden, where they will participate in installation and planting with community support. All recipients will receive a garden, seeds, plants, 5 growing classes, and community support to aid in success!
teaching youth to garden
Students from northeast Ohio learn about growing their own food and how food supports our overall health.
Offering Community Gardens
We have raised beds tended by neighborhood families who want to grow in a supportive community setting. The program has been supported with generous funding by Neighborhood Connections and Cleveland Climate Action Fund through a Neighbor UP! grant. The Cleveland Roots Community Garden is also part of the Summer Sprout program, offered through the OSU Extension office and with the volunteer support of OSU Master gardeners.
market for everyone!
Our storefront on the corner of w.41 St & Robert provides all members of the community with access to our local and organic foods, fruits and vegetables. It operates on donations, so you can pay what you choose. Those who pay full price support those who cannot afford produce that week, so we encourage everyone to shop with us and support the local food movement.
The store front is open, every Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm during the months of May through October!
We hope to expand operating hours as we have the financial capacity to support more growing, harvesting, and staffing needs, so please consider donating to support the market or shopping with us and donating the amount you would pay at a chain market.
Donations help increase food access in northeast Ohio!
food access partnerships
Partnerships with other organizations expanding food freedom help to increase our impact. We donate excess produce to food pantries and churches, offer coolers and distribution space to food rescues, engage employees and students in growing projects, and more. Reach out to join in our mission to help northeast Ohioans take control of our food and our health!
